A Day in the Life

Lately our days have been playing out a little differently than usual, as a newborn presence has been added to our family dynamic! We are all learning to be more flexible and open to the unexpected these days and must plan many hours in advance to simply leave the house for an outing to the grocery store. You just never know when a feeding or diaper change will be needed. With this late wintry weather we have also found ourselves spending a lot of time indoors. Movies, play dough, finger paints, gymnastic stunts off the couch, cuddling with books, puppet shows, and bubble baths in the middle of the day have been filling up our rainy days. We Simpsons, are seriously looking forward to Spring showing it's face, so we can get out in the yard to do some gardening and maybe even head out to the beach for a little fun in the sun.

Here's what a typical day looks like for the Simspons:

Early morning-

Breakfast and PBS (thank goodness for pbs! Sesame Street and Super Why rock!)

Artistic Hour (everyday we strive to incorporate at least one art/craft project into our day, lately we have been loving finger paints!)
Mid-day outing-
These usually consist of a play date at the park, lunch out, a gymnastics class, museum, library, or maybe just a stroll around the neighborhood.

Depending on the outing of the day, we do lunch on the go or a power packed smoothie at home!


After our mid-afternoon adventure, we usually make our way home for a nap (few and far between for Braedon) or a little quiet time.

Aubrey enjoys her sleep, while big brother Braedon runs circles around her!


After naps, quiet time, food, etc. we hope the weather is nice and try to head outside into the backyard to have some fun with the dogs, roll around in the sandbox, shoot some hoops, or hunt for bugs!




Afternoons consist of-
Sunshine or Rain
Winnie the Pooh
Many books read aloud
gold fish crackers and raisins


Evenings are spent playing with Daddy, relaxing by the fire while watching American Idol, bath time, and then it's off to bed!

Night times are spent waking with Aubrey to feed and change her (although so far she's not waking too often) so we're still managing to get a good amount of zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz's.
