A Morning at the Beach

Good Afternoon:)

As I sit here writing this, Braedon is peacefully napping and I am staring out the window at the dark luminous clouds as they pour sheets of rain down on our green grass lawn. We've had a lot of rain lately (much needed of course) but there are definitely signs of spring outside! Lately, we've been taking full advantage of any little window of sunshine that comes our way. It's been nice to soak up a little Vitamin D in between these cold storms. This past weekend started with a morning trip to Mad River Beach. It was a little chilly, but calm so we made our way out for a little walk on our favorite sand dollar beach. Braedon loves the water and if it was up to him, he'd jump right in the ocean, so we have to watch him like a hawk at the beach. His favorite activity-collecting small pebbles and walking to the water's edge to drop them in. We hold his hand and let him do this and let me tell you, it makes him so happy! It's funny how the simplest things can make a kid's day. The dogs were happy to be out frolicking too!

After playing in the surf and sand, we came home to await the arrival of Braedon's Omah and Opah Simpson! They came up for the weekend from San Anselmo to visit and spend some time with B. They were also nice enough to watch Braedon for the afternoon so Nick and I could go out for a movie date. After hearing everyone rave so much about Avatar, we thought we'd see what all the fuss was about! WOW! If you haven't seen it, DO!!!!!! It was truly amazing and to top it off, we saw it in 3D. This was my first 3D experience and it was pretty cool I must say.

What a day! A movie date (our second one in a year and a half!!!!) and a dinner out with the fam to our favorite Hawaiian BBQ (Banana Hut).

The weekend ended with a BEAUTIFUL sunny Sunday and a bike ride to the park with Braedon.

Hope you all had a great weekend and are enjoying your week so far!

I love this picture! It looks and sounds like the family has tons of fun. I'll need to get one of these for our bike rides when our little one is big enough. What brand of jogging stroller and bike attachment did you get? Are you really happy with both?
